The new setting provides a safer and more suitable environment, especially for the Baby Hatch, which offers a safe and anonymous option for women experiencing crisis pregnancies.

OrphanCare General Manager Zakiah A Rahman said the move allows them to operate in a better location while keeping the Baby Hatch accessible to those who need it most.

"The baby hatch is often a last resort for women facing crisis pregnancies and maintaining its operation is critical to preventing unsafe abandonment.

"We are grateful for the support from the Budimas Foundation, which helped us strengthen our services in Johor Bahru," she said.

In addition to operating the Baby Hatch, OrphanCare Johor Bahru will continue its adoption facilitation services, family reintegration programmes and public advocacy efforts promoting family-based care as an alternative to institutionalisation.
