The 11th edition of World #QuranHour will be held on March 11, carrying the theme "Shaping The Human Self Before Changing The World" based on Surah al-Muzzammil.

SHAH ALAM – The first-ever English edition of World #QuranHour 2026 will be held at the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Mosque, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in Gombak.

Warisan Ummah Ikhlas Foundation chief content officer Fazrul Ismail said the decision to use English was aimed at expanding the reach of the message internationally, in line with the "World" identity of the campaign.

He said access to understanding the messages delivered through the programme had previously been limited, particularly at the international level.

"So this year, we have chosen to use English in the hope that the message we want to convey to Malaysians and the global community, to uphold the Quran as a guide, can be more widely received.

"In addition, the uniqueness of this year’s event lies in the selection of Surah al-Muzzammil, the 73rd chapter consisting of 20 verses, which serves as guidance for the Prophet in strengthening self-identity when facing a greater phase of responsibility.

"That is the message we want to bring to the public. We hope society can come together to reflect on the formula from the Creator to strengthen individuals, the nation and the world in facing current challenges," he said when met during the Media Synergy briefing in conjunction with World #QuranHour 2026.
