REMBAU – Political activist Badrul Hisham Shaharin, better known as Chegubard, was involved in a road accident while attempting to avoid an animal at Kilometre 7.3 of Jalan Chengkau-Pilin-Lubuk Cina early Thursday.
Rembau deputy district police chief Deputy Superintendent Azmi Ali said the incident occurred at about 12.30am when Chegubard was driving a Toyota Hilux from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Rembau towards Kampung Lada Chengkau.
“Upon reaching the location, an unidentified animal is believed to have crossed the road from right to left.
“He tried to avoid it but lost control of the vehicle, which veered onto the left shoulder and crashed into a bridge pillar,” he told Sinar on Thursday.
Azmi said the vehicle sustained damage, including a burst front left tyre, a damaged front bumper and a dented bonnet.
However, Chegubard was not injured.
In a Facebook post, Chegubard expressed gratitude that he escaped the incident unharmed.
