KUALA LUMPUR - The Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) will install closed-circuit television cameras at the car park of Bukit Kiara Federal Park following recent vehicle break-ins.
In a statement today, DBKL said installation works would begin within a week and are expected to be completed by early March.
The move follows concerns raised by Seputeh Member of Parliament Teresa Kok over a car break-in at the site and the proposed installation of CCTV in the area.
"DBKL views the incident and public concerns seriously. The safety of city residents and park visitors is always our priority in ensuring a safe and conducive public environment,” the statement read.
Meanwhile, police are investigating a case involving damage to Kok’s car window at the park on Feb 22.
Brickfields deputy police chief Supt Ahmad Firdaus Mustaffa Kamal said the incident is believed to have occurred between 6.15 pm and 7 pm while the MP was exercising in the park. - BERNAMA
