It said that withdrawing trains from service is a standard operational and safety procedure, adding that trains may be temporarily taken out of service for minor repairs, including air-conditioning issues or other system issues.

It said this was done to ensure that the comfort and safety of commuters and the quality of service to passengers are always maintained.

Rapid Rail also said that every time a train is taken out of service, it will implement mitigation measures, such as deploying a replacement train if necessary, to ensure that headway is maintained at peak-hour frequencies and the trust in public transport is not affected.

The company also stressed that transparency in operations should not be interpreted as service disruptions.
