The case was not linked to any form of religious hatred but was instead suspected to be a tactic used by loan sharks to exert pressure.

SEREMBAN - Two men were left shocked after pig heads were discovered placed in front of their house and shop in separate incidents in Negeri Sembilan early Thursday morning, with police suspecting the act was linked to illegal moneylending activities.

State police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said police received two reports involving pig heads being left outside a house in Kuala Pilah and a shop in Pekan Tampin at around 1am.

"The two male victims are related to each other," he said in a statement on Thursday.

Initial investigations found that the two incidents were connected and are believed to have stemmed from a personal dispute between the victims and suspects suspected to be illegal moneylenders.

Authorities believed the act was intended to intimidate the victims into settling their debts.

Alzafny said the case was not linked to any form of religious hatred but was instead suspected to be a tactic used by loan sharks to exert pressure.

He added that the same suspect was also believed to have previously splashed paint on the shop involved in the incident.

"If convicted, offenders may face up to two years’ imprisonment or a fine or both," he said.

He urged members of the public who have information about the case to come forward to assist with the investigation.

He also advised the public not to issue statements that could disrupt public order and avoid spreading false claims related to the matter.
