KUALA LUMPUR - Three individuals, including a seven-month-old baby boy, were killed in a two-vehicle collision at the junction of Jalan Bunga Kertas, Bukit Sentosa in Hulu Selangor on Thursday.
Hulu Selangor police chief Supt Ibrahim Husin said preliminary investigations found that the accident occurred at about 9am when a car turned right at the junction and failed to avoid a motorcycle heading from Taman Widuri towards Sungai Choh, resulting in the motorcycle grazing the left side of the car.
"As a result of the accident, the 25-year-old motorcyclist, a salesman, and the car's 88-year-old woman passenger were confirmed dead at the scene,” he said in a statement.
He said the baby boy, who was being held by a passenger in the rear seat of the car, suffered severe injuries and was taken to Sungai Buloh Hospital, where he died at about 11am while receiving treatment.
Ibrahim said the male car driver and the front-seat woman passenger, both aged 60, sustained only minor injuries and were also taken to the hospital.
