NEW DELHI – A 25-year-old ice cream seller was killed in a brutal incident after he was beheaded by a man following an argument in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday.
The victim, identified as Bablu, had been at Parsawal village as usual to sell ice cream before becoming involved in a verbal dispute with a local resident, Shankar Yadav, 50.
Police said the argument turned violent when the suspect attacked the victim with a sickle and slit his throat, severing his head in front of members of the public.
In a shocking turn, the suspect later took the victim’s head back to his home in the same village and behaved as if nothing had happened by cooking inside the house.
Police who received information rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area under the orders of district police chief Arpit Vijayvargiya.
During the raid, officers found the suspect inside the house cooking, while the victim’s head was located nearby.
The suspect was subsequently arrested and the weapon used in the attack was seized.
The victim’s body was sent for a post-mortem, while further investigations were being carried out to determine the cause of the dispute that led to the killing.
It was understood that the victim was the eldest of three siblings and supported his family through labour work and selling ice cream.
His wife and two children were reported to be in shock and grief following the incident.
