KOTA KINABALU - Two teenagers drowned while bathing in a river in Mandalipau, Papar this morning.
Papar Fire and Rescue Station chief Rozlan Osman said they received a distress call at about 10.10am and an eight-man team arrived at the location, 31 kilometres away, at 10.50am.
"The operations commanded reported that the victims had been found by members of the public before they arrived,” he said in a statement today, adding that a girl, 15, and a boy, 18, were pronounced dead by medical officers at the scene.
The bodies of the victims were handed over to the police for further action, he added. - BERNAMA
