KLANG - A viral video showing a man clinging to the back of a moving trailer along Persiaran Tengku Ampuan Rahimah in Klang on March 30 has prompted a police investigation.
The footage, which circulated widely online, captured the individual holding onto the moving heavy vehicle, raising serious safety concerns.
Authorities have since urged members of the public with relevant information to come forward to assist in the investigation.
South Klang district police chief Lim Jit Huey said the incident involved a man clinging onto a trailer as it travelled from Taman Sri Andalas towards Persiaran Raja Muda Musa.
“Investigations found that the trailer driver was unaware of the individual holding onto his vehicle while driving along the route,” he said in a statement yesterday.
Authorities confirmed that the case is being investigated under Section 47 of the Road Transport Act 1987 and Section 336 of the Penal Code, which relate to reckless and dangerous acts that could endanger public safety.
Police are now appealing to witnesses or individuals with relevant information to assist in the investigation.
