GEORGE TOWN - A 27-year-old woman was found dead after she was discovered unconscious in a hotel room at Tanjung Tokong here yesterday.
Timur Laut district deputy police chief Supt Lee Swee Sake said police received information from Penang Hospital on the death of the woman, who was from Langkawi, Kedah, at 12.30 pm.
He said initial investigations found that the victim had travelled to Penang with her partner for a holiday since April 3 and was staying at the hotel.
"At about 9.30 am yesterday, the victim was found unconscious by her partner before she was rushed to HPP by ambulance.
"She was pronounced dead at 11.46 am while receiving treatment,” he said in a statement today.
He said no elements of foul play were found, while the cause of death is still pending further laboratory analysis and the case has been classified as sudden death. - BERNAMA
