SYDNEY - Passengers at Perth Airport Terminal 1 in Western Australia experienced disruptions on Wednesday as police investigated an unattended bag at the terminal, reported Xinhua.
The Australian Federal Police urged the public to "avoid the area and await further advice".
A spokesperson for the airport said in a statement that an exclusion zone was set up.
"An unattended item is currently being investigated by the Australian Federal Police and Western Australia Police at Perth Airport," the statement said.
"As a precaution, an exclusion zone has been established in the area," it said.
According to media reports, crowds could be seen gathering outside the terminal entrance.
