KUALA LUMPUR – Two individuals who disrupted a forum featuring Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur on April 7 were among those present at the "Tangkap Azam Baki" rally held here on Saturday.
The two men were among the participants who addressed the crowd and voiced dissatisfaction with Azam and the Madani government.
One of them said the gathering reflected the demand among students and youths for an integrity body free from corruption.
“Today, students and young people have gathered. We want to make our stand clear.
“Anwar Ibrahim has failed as Prime Minister. We have gathered here and will continue this struggle,” he said.
The two men were among three individuals remanded for three days to assist investigations over the disruption of Azam’s speech at the forum.
They are being investigated for several alleged offences, including obstructing a public servant from carrying out official duties, sedition, criminal intimidation and trespassing.
At the rally, Sinar also observed the presence of controversial businessman Albert Tei, who appeared in a publicity stunt wearing a lock-up shirt associated with the MACC.
On Dec 4 last year, Tei was charged at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court with corruption-related offences.
