SHAH ALAM - WHOhad ‘Henry Golding in Parliament’ on their 2026 bingo card?
The 39-year-old British-Malaysian actor, best known for breaking out as Nick Young in Crazy Rich Asians, paid a courtesy visit to Parliament, meeting Deputy Senate President Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed.
Golding, who has also starred in A Simple Favor, Last Christmas, The Gentlemen and Snake Eyes, rose to international fame as one of the first Asian leading men in a major Hollywood romantic comedy, earning widespread recognition and praise for helping push Asian representation in mainstream cinema.
Serving both style and substance, Golding’s visit was more than just ceremonial. He was given a rare glimpse into the workings of Malaysian democracy.
The Sarawak-born actor reportedly spoke about community development in rural Sarawak, tying the Hollywood star back to his Iban roots.
And yes, he was also taken on a guided tour of Parliament, getting a behind-the-scenes look at both the Senate and Dewan Rakyat chambers.
“In an effort to promote the “People’s Parliament” initiative, Golding was also given a guided tour of the Senate and the House of Representatives chambers,” Nur Jazlan said in a statement.
