KUALA LUMPUR - Pakatan Harapan (PH) has expressed regret over the actions of 14 Negeri Sembilan Umno-Barisan Nasional (BN) assemblymen who withdrew their support for the state government.
PH Communications director Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said the move does not reflect the spirit of the unity government.
He said PH strongly rejects what it described as a betrayal by Umno-BN in the state in attempting a "backdoor move” to take over the state administration, with the reasons given have no connection whatsoever with the performance of Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.
"The actions were taken without regard for the welfare of the people, and at a time when the unity government and the country are facing global supply crisis while striving to manage the economy and ease the burden on the people,” he said in a statement today.
He said PH reaffirmed its commitment that, as conveyed by its chairman to the Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, the state administration under the leadership of the Menteri Besar continues to function as usual.
Fahmi added that PH will continue to extend its cooperation to the state leadership to ensure economic stability and the welfare of the people.
"PH will also continue to uphold the role and functions of the institution of the Malay Rulers,” he said.
Yesterday, all 14 Umno and BN assemblymen in Negeri Sembilan unanimously announced they had lost confidence in and withdrawn support for the state government led by Aminuddin. - BERNAMA
