SHAH ALAM – Yazmin Aziz has achieved a significant international breakthrough by becoming the first Malaysian artist to perform on the Wish 107.5 Wish Bus, a globally acclaimed mobile recording platform known for its viral live performances.
Her highly anticipated performance, recorded on Jan 20 premiered on May 4 at 9pm, placing her on one of Asia's most influential live music platforms where performances frequently draw millions and sometimes hundreds of millions of views worldwide.
Launched in 2014 by Wish 107.5, the Wish Bus is a high-tech mobile radio and recording studio often described as an “FM-on-wheels.”
It transforms public spaces into live performance venues, offering artists a platform to reach global audiences through professionally recorded “Wishclusive” sessions uploaded to YouTube.
Over the years, the platform has expanded beyond the Philippines to locations such as the United States and South Korea, further strengthening its reputation as a major music discovery channel.
Performances on the Wish Bus frequently attract millions of views, with some reaching hundreds of millions worldwide.
Yazmin’s appearance marks a milestone not only for her personal career but also for Malaysia’s music industry, signalling growing recognition of local talent on the global stage.
Industry observers noted that appearing on the Wish Bus is akin to stepping onto a global stage where artists can be discovered by the entire world.
They further emphasised that it represents more than just a performance, describing it as an entry into a highly respected music culture.
Yazmin’s Wish Bus debut features her latest single, Nagpalinlang, which also marks her first Tagalog-language release.
Released on Jan 16, under Sony Music, the track was written by Yazmin alongside Adonis Tabanda and produced by Tabanda and Bo Amir Iqram. It blends emotional storytelling with an upbeat, band-driven sound inspired by Original Pilipino Music (OPM).
At its core, the song explores themes of love, deception and self-realisation, focusing on personal growth rather than heartbreak.
“It’s not a breakup song; it’s a wake-up song,” Yazmin said.
The performance comes amid a strong run of achievements for the singer.
In 2025, she represented Malaysia as the only Southeast Asian contestant at the Silk Way Star Singing Competition in Kazakhstan, where she ranked first for the most episodes aired across six international networks.
Her growing international presence is further reflected in her accolades, including being named among Malaysia’s Top 30 Women of Excellence 2025 and receiving recognition at the 2025 Canadian Global Awards.
Beyond music, Yazmin has built a substantial digital following, with over 1.9 million followers on TikTok, where her multilingual content and storytelling resonate strongly with audiences, particularly within the Filipino community.
As her Wish Bus performance reaches global audiences, Yazmin’s milestone is seen as a defining moment that bridges cultures, languages and markets while opening doors for more Malaysian artists to gain international exposure.
