DHAKA – A pink albino buffalo nicknamed “Donald Trump” has captured widespread attention in Narayanganj after going viral on social media for its unusual appearance, said to resemble United States President Donald Trump.

The nearly 700-kilogram buffalo is raised at Rabeya Agro Farm in the Paikpara area of Bangladesh. It was given the name “Donald Trump” due to the golden-colored hair on its head, which some believe resembles Trump’s signature hairstyle.

According to the farm’s owner, Ziauddin Mridha, the name was given spontaneously by his younger brother after noticing the resemblance.

“This buffalo is very tame. Albino buffaloes are generally calm and not aggressive unless provoked,” he said.

Ziauddin shared that he purchased the buffalo about 10 months ago from a livestock market in Rajshahi.

He added that the buffalo has already been sold at a price of 550 Bangladeshi taka (approximately RM17.60) per kilogramme based on its live weight and is expected to be handed over to its new owner next week.

A local resident, Russell, said he visited the farm after seeing a video of the buffalo on Facebook.

“It really does look like Trump. The facial features and hair are strikingly similar,” he said.

Another visitor, Mim, who came with her child, admitted she initially thought the comparison was exaggerated after seeing photos online.

“But after seeing it in person, it really does resemble Trump. The name fits perfectly,” she said.

Meanwhile, farm caretaker Kawser said the buffalo receives careful attention, including being bathed four times a day.

He added that its diet consists of corn, oil cake, bran, rice husks and grass.

The farm also revealed that it has prepared around 200 cows and buffaloes for the upcoming Eid al-Adha, with nearly all of them already booked by buyers. - AGENCY
