"The offences do not necessarily rise during festive seasons but occur on normal days. We have also caught motorists committing such offences up to 30 times with the same vehicle,” she said at a media conference on a special tailgating and toll offences enforcement operation at Gombak Toll Plaza today,

She said that 95 per cent of offenders used private vehicles, with most cases happening along the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Expressway and several locations at the East Coast Expressway 1, including Kuantan and that even though the number of LODs issued in two years were high, the repayment amount was low, at less than one per cent.

Ismaliza said Afa used closed-circuit television and automatic detection to identify each offence, including tailgating and hitting toll bars, which is punishable under Section 8 of the Federal Roads (Private Management) (Amendment) Act 1994 - BERNAMA
