KOTA BHARU – The decision by Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli and Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad to leave PKR and resign from their respective parliamentary seats in Pandan and Setiawangsa has not shaken the party in the slightest.

PKR Youth Chief Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim stated that the situation is nothing unusual, as PKR has weathered various political episodes since its inception.

He said the party remains rock-solid and continues to see a steady increase in membership over time.

"Shaken? Not at all, we are not shaken. In fact, we remain strong. This is part and parcel of the democratic process.

"Keadilan has gone through many episodes and series of events where we saw leaders leaving the party for their own reasons and arguments.

"But ultimately, it is the people out there who will judge," he said during a press conference here today.

Earlier, he officiated the Laptop Contribution and Early Higher Education Institution Assistance Program for eKasih children with excellent SPM 2025 results in Kelantan (Kota Bharu district), held at the Dewan Jubli Perak, Politeknik Kota Bharu here.

He said this when asked to comment on the actions of several PKR division leaders who reportedly left the party, sparking perceptions that PKR is weakening.

Kamil pointed out that the party had faced much larger challenges before, including the onset of the Sheraton Move in 2020.

He said many predicted at the time that PKR would be completely crippled, but that assumption was proven wrong when the party successfully formed the government after the 15th General Election (GE15).

"Back in 2020 during the Sheraton Move, many thought Keadilan would be completely paralysed.

"But those assumptions clearly missed the mark when we successfully formed the government after GE15, with Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim becoming the Prime Minister," he said.

Commenting on claims that the actions of certain leaders including the former PKR Deputy President would impact the party, he emphasised that it does not pose a significant impact on the party's Youth Wing or PKR as a whole.

"There is no impact, it is business as usual. There is no significant impact.

"AMK (PKR Youth Wing) remains intact and strong. In fact, from time to time, we are witnessing a continuous rise and increase in the number of members joining Keadilan," he added.

Recently, Rafizi and Nik Nazmi, who is now former PKR Vice President, announced their departure from the party on May 17, consequently vacating their respective parliamentary seats.
