ACCRA - At least 12 people were killed and two critically injured in a highway crash late Tuesday in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, according to local authorities, reported Xinhua.
Eyewitnesses said the accident occurred after a commercial minibus collided head-on with a trailer along the Kumasi-Techiman highway.
Medical officials at Nkenkaasu Government Hospital confirmed on Wednesday that out of 14 casualties brought to the hospital, 12 were declared dead on arrival, with two others in critical condition.
The hospital officials added that the bodies of the dead had been sent to the hospital's mortuary, awaiting identification.
