With a combination of wholesale, retail and lifestyle elements, the wholesale centre continues to be the preferred choice for entrepreneurs to source stock, build business networks and expand their brands.

KUALA LUMPUR - The growing trend of side income ventures and digital businesses has transformed GM Klang from merely a wholesale shopping destination into a modern business hub that brings together an entrepreneurial community within a dynamic ecosystem.

GM Klang said in a statement that, with a combination of wholesale, retail and lifestyle elements, the wholesale centre continues to be the preferred choice for entrepreneurs to source stock, build business networks and expand their brands.

In line with evolving business trends, it said more individuals are exploring small-scale business opportunities through e-commerce platforms while simultaneously operating physical stores.

"What began as a source of supplementary income has seen many entrepreneurs successfully expand their businesses more seriously in tandem with changing business trends and current consumer purchasing behaviour," the statement said.

Meanwhile, HSQ Trading Sdn Bhd director Vincent Liew said he had previously been involved in various types of businesses, including dropshipping and online sales, before focusing on developing his own brand, "Dr. Flask."

Liew, who operates a tumbler business offering customised name and logo printing services, said digital platforms and social media now greatly help entrepreneurs grow their businesses more rapidly and flexibly.

"Throughout my involvement in the business world, I have tried various business models before focusing on developing Dr. Flask. With the support of the business community at GM Klang, our business has continued to grow and we now operate several units here.

"In my view, digital platforms and physical stores complement each other. Digital platforms help with marketing and keeping up with current trends, while physical stores are important in building customer confidence in the brand and products," he said.

Liew is among the local entrepreneurs who have grown alongside the business ecosystem at GM Klang.

GM Klang remains optimistic about further strengthening its role as a modern business hub that not only meets trading needs, but also serves as a platform that creates more opportunities and networks for entrepreneurs and the new generation of businesses. - BERNAMA
