MUNICH - Mathew Collins, a son of famous musician Phil Collins, is reportedly set for a move to German third division club 1860 Munich, German Press Agency (dpa) reported.
The Bild paper said on Saturday that Collins is to have a training trial soon at the club before a possible signing.
The 21-year-old played at Austrian second division side Austria Salzburg in the past season but only featured in five matches.
The Munich club is preparing for the new season amid big financial uncertainty.
They reportedly need €2.7 million (US$3.15 million) by July 3 to get a new licence for the third tier. If they do not come up with the funds, the former Bundesliga side face a drop into the fourth division.
Phil Collins, 75, is the former drummer and frontman of rock band Genesis. He also had a vastly successful solo career. Collins has won an Oscar and several Grammy Awards, and is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
