KUALA LUMPUR – Kids Karangkraf is introducing more than 25 new titles for children and teenage readers in conjunction with the Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair (KLIBF) 2026.
Kids Karangkraf editor Siti Aisyah Hussain said among the latest series featured are the children’s picture book series ‘Apa Itu’ and the pre-teen novel series ‘Hantu Sekolah’.
She said the new series are published to cater to the increasingly diverse interests of young readers while fostering a reading culture among children and teenagers.
“For example, the ‘Apa Itu’ picture book series introduces various basic concepts and knowledge in a simple and engaging way, suitable for young readers aged between four and seven.
“What’s more, buyers who purchase a bundle of three ‘Apa Itu’ books will receive an exclusive colouring book available only during the book fair.
“Meanwhile, the ‘Hantu Sekolah’ series offers light mystery and horror elements suitable for pre-teen readers.
The storyline is not only spooky but also carries moral lessons. I believe young readers will stay engaged and not get bored while reading them,” she said.
She said this when met at the Karangkraf booth during the KLIBF 2026, which runs until June 7 (Sunday).
Meanwhile, in an effort to attract more readers, Aisyah shared that Karangkraf Book Group is also offering various exclusive packages and discounts available only throughout the book fair.
She said readers can enjoy bundle deals, with three books priced at RM28 and six books at RM55, compared with the original retail price of RM12 per copy.
In addition, a special Sirah Nabi combo set featuring Stories of Prophet Muhammad SAW in Mecca and Stories of Prophet Muhammad SAW in Medina is priced at RM48 for two copies.
“We are also offering RM10 book packages and several other special promotions available only at the book fair,” she added.
Meanwhile, Karangkraf Book Group is also planning to introduce a reading challenge programme inspired by the Nilam (Reading Culture) concept through a dedicated digital platform for children and parents.
According to Aisyah, the programme, known as Kids Book Club #LessScreenMoreBooks, will combine both physical and online activities, including reading challenges that allow each reading activity to be recorded in the system.
“Participation in the Kids Book Club is open to Malaysian children aged four to 12. Various special activities will be organised continuously throughout the year, not just during the book fair,” she said.
