Sinar reported on June 1 that the grandson of the late former Kelantan menteri besar alleged he was slapped by a senator while attending an official university programme in Janda Baik, Pahang on May 20.

Nik Alif Aiman said the incident allegedly occurred at around 6pm after a ceramah session at the Pemerkasaan Bangsa 2.0 programme held at Institut Latihan Memperkasa Ummah (ILMU).

Azhar had previously been considering legal action following the allegation linking him to the slapping incident, saying he wished to establish the veracity of the facts and the relevant legal implications.
