TANAH MERAH – Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin will remain as Opposition Leader following an agreement reached between Pas and the Reset movement, Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang announced on Saturday.
The decision is seen as a significant move to preserve continuity within the opposition bloc amid ongoing political realignments and speculation surrounding Hamzah's future following his departure from Bersatu earlier this year.
Abdul Hadi said the agreement was reached to ensure the continuity of opposition leadership under the existing structure while maintaining stability and cooperation among parties aligned within the bloc.
"Pas and Reset have agreed to retain Hamzah as Opposition Leader," he said during the Reset Malaysia Convention in Tanah Merah, Kelantan today.
The announcement comes amid heightened attention on the Reset movement, which was launched by Hamzah in February following his expulsion from Bersatu after a leadership dispute with party president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
Hamzah, a former Home Minister and former Opposition Leader, has emerged as a key figure in efforts to reshape the opposition landscape ahead of the next general election.
