KUALA LUMPUR – Fashion, culture and modern masculinity took centre stage at KLGCC Mall as its week-long Style Now showcase drew to a close with a Father's Day-themed fashion presentation on Saturday.
Held at the mall's Main Atrium, the showcase brought together some of Malaysia's leading designers, lifestyle brands and creative talents in conjunction with Father's Day and Awal Muharram, offering visitors a blend of fashion, retail experiences and family-focused activities.
Saturday's programme featured runway presentations by Radzuan Radziwill, Smart Master, Kalai House of Linen andUlin Songket, alongside musical performances by Rezza Shah and Vince Chong, who performed fatherhood-inspired songs including Nothing's Gonna Change My Love For You and Dance With My Father.
The event was graced by Tengku Puteri Raja Tengku Puteri Iman Afzan Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and hosted by emcee Joey G.
The showcase formed part of Style Now, a nine-day lifestyle campaign held from June 13 to 21 that celebrated contemporary menswear, local craftsmanship and personal style through fashion presentations, lifestyle booths, designer showcases and celebrity appearances.
Visitors also explored a curated lifestyle bazaar featuring retailers, experiential booths and local entrepreneurs, including a pop-up by actor Aaron Aziz showcasing his signature fragrance line, Oud.
Malaysian actor and Kuala Lumpur Men's Fashion Week founder Datuk Seri Raja Shah Rezza, who organised the showcase in collaboration with KLGCC Mall, said the programme was designed to celebrate both fashion and fatherhood.
"I wanted the show to have the flavour of Father's Day. That's why we incorporated songs connected to fathers, such as Daddy Cool and Dance With My Father.
"Fashion is a thing of beauty and confidence. Even in Islam, there is a saying that Allah is beautiful and loves beauty. Looking good gives people confidence, regardless of whether they are fathers, mothers or anyone else," he told Sinar Daily.
Raja Shah Rezza said fathers are often associated with work and responsibility, leaving little time to focus on personal style or self-care.
"Many fathers spend most of their time working and providing for their families. Fashion showcases like this can inspire them to explore different styles and realise there are many options available to them.
"When people see models wearing different looks, it helps them imagine how those styles might suit them. That's what fashion shows are about, providing ideas and inspiration," he said.
He added that the showcase featured 21 models with diverse appearances to reflect different personalities and lifestyles, while encouraging men to step outside their comfort zones and embrace self-expression.
Beyond the runway, Style Now also featured a shopper rewards campaign, with customers spending a minimum of RM800 eligible to redeem a Father's Day experience package worth RM1,500.
As the curtain falls on Style Now, organisers hope the event has not only highlighted Malaysian fashion and craftsmanship, but also encouraged visitors to view style, grooming and self-confidence as an important part of modern living.
