The Swedish company claimed that Google had abused its dominant market position by giving preference to its own price comparison service within its search engine results, unfairly disadvantaging competitors.

MOSCOW - Sweden’s Patent and Market Court said it had ordered US company Google to pay a Swedish price comparison service 14.3 billion Swedish kronor (US$1.46 billion) in damages for violating antitrust laws.

"Google must pay PriceRunner 14.3 billion Swedish kronor in compensation for losses from violating antitrust laws," the court said on Wednesday.

The Swedish company then claimed that Google was giving preference to its price comparison service in search results. - BERNAMA
