SHAH ALAM – Former Umno Supreme Council member Isham Jalil has officially become a Pas member after registering as a lifetime member, with the party describing his decision as being driven by his confidence in the party.
The announcement was made by Selangor Pas Youth chief and Shah Alam Pas chief Mohamed Sukri Omar through a Facebook post on Saturday.
Sukri said he received a WhatsApp message from Isham on Friday night informing him that he had completed the party membership process.
"Last night, I received a WhatsApp message from Isham informing me that he had completed the Pas membership form and registered as a lifetime Pas member.
"This decision stems from his confidence in choosing Pas as his political platform to champion and defend religion, race and the nation," he said.
He said Pas remains open to individuals who sincerely wish to serve and contribute to the party.
According to Sukri, the party's struggle is founded on faith, principles and the responsibility of leading society based on Islamic values rather than personal interests.
He also expressed hope that Isham would remain committed to its cause.
"May Allah SWT grant him, as well as all Pas members, strength, sincerity and steadfastness to continue carrying the responsibility of the struggle, defending Islam, strengthening the unity of the ummah and building a more prosperous future for Malaysia.
"This struggle is not measured by who arrives first, but by who remains steadfast until the very end. Welcome to the ranks of the struggle," he said.
