The accused’s lawyers, Muhamad Saifullah Muhamad Azmi and M. Partiben, requested reasonable bail on the grounds that their client is newly married, the main breadwinner for his family in Bangladesh, and earns a monthly income of RM1,800.

"The court has decided that the right to bail is not limited to citizens only. Non-citizens may also be granted bail, and the surety present is the accused's own employer, who knows him and is aware of his residential address," she said.
