SHAH ALAM – The Shah Alam Expressway (Kesas) near the Hicom interchange was reported to be congested following a liquid spill at Kilometre 30.5 eastbound, leaving the road surface slippery and covered in foam.
The white liquid covering the road appeared to resemble snow, attracting the attention of passing motorists.
The Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM), in an update at 4.27pm, confirmed that the incident occurred at Ramp A of the Kota Kemuning interchange.
According to LLM, the spill blocked the left lane, causing traffic to move slowly.
"Motorists are advised to slow down and follow the instructions of personnel at the scene," it said.
Photos shared by LLM showed part of the road surface at the location covered in white liquid.
Highway users were advised to exercise heightened caution and reduce speed when travelling through the affected area to prevent any unwanted incidents.
So far, authorities have yet to disclose the type of liquid spilled or the cause of the incident.
The unusual sight on part of the Kesas Expressway caught the attention of road users, with some even mistaking the area for being 'covered in snow'.
Several videos circulating on social media showed the highway surface coated in white liquid, alongside visible tyre marks from passing vehicles.
