The charge is framed under Section 165 of the Penal Code, which provides for up to two years' jail or a fine, or both, upon conviction.

Lawyer Ahmad Nur Faid Afiq Aziz appealed for lower bail, saying his client is the sole breadwinner earning about RM3,000 a month and supports his wife, a child and both parents, and has had to dip into savings to pay the bail.

Sazlina allowed bail at RM5,000 on condition that the accused surrenders his passport to the court, reports to the MACC office monthly until the case is resolved, and does not disturb witnesses.
