The world may be full of uncertainties but beauty trends however, is something experts can predict. The beauty industry brings boundless possibilities each year and it sure has been through a wild ride since the pandemic. Here are five beauty trends that are expected to go big in 2022.


Think reusable packaging, refillable models and brands moving away from using synthetic ingredients. Over the years people have become more eco-conscious and this is something the industry has had to adapt with. Some criteria used to indicate a sustainable beauty product is that it's vegan, cruelty free and organic and this pretty much describes 'clean beauty'. A plethora of brands have already jumped on the bandwagon like Drunk Elephant and Kiehl's but we can expect to see more this year.


Consumers are always demanding more from their skincare and cosmetics. The benefits they can gain from the products need to be functional and relevant. With an uptick in the trend of simplified skincare and make-up routines, multipurpose products will be the new darlings this year.

Products like a super serum skin tint, balm for the lips, cheeks and eyes can anticipate a huge audience, especially for women on the go. Brands like Nudestix, and Nars have a had a headstart with the trend offering products like their cheek, lip and eye stick.

Many high-tech beauty products focus on anti-aging treatments that do not require cosmetic surgery, redefining beauty in a new kind of way as it is specifically adhered to each individual.
