Harnessing the goodness of Jeju Island
Orinbe is now available in Malaysia
The island is known for its volcanic ash soil and geothermic natural spring water that is mineral-rich, blessing people with unique ingredients such as green tea, camelia oil, bija seeds, soybeans and an abundance of exotic fruits.
This is what made the ingredients very rare and hard to come by in other countries. Many K-beauty brands that harness the benefits of Jeju Island are made available in Malaysia and another one that has joined the list is Orinbe.
Formulated in 2016, Orinbe meaning ‘original ingredients benefit’ is a skin care brand which uses ingredients sourced from Jeju for its beauty products.
According to e-commerce retail store Modern Essentials (ME) founder Nick Leong, the skin care brand was brought to Malaysia after he met the brand owner and chief executive officer of Orinbe Korea, David Choi in a trade fair in Korea in 2019.
My partner and I love Orinbe’s ingredients where they use Jeju Lava Sea Water, Jeju carrots, Jeju red beets and Hallasan Mountain Shiitake (mushrooms), among others, so we decided to bring the products into Malaysia,” Leong said. “We also love the fact that the company only uses ingredients that are safe in accordance with the standard of Environmental Working Group (EWG),” he added.
The manufacturer also avoided 20 toxic or controversial ingredients and has conducted a hypoallergenic test for all its products to ensure that there is only a low possibility of skin irritation.
The products are suitable for sensitive skin, and are approved by the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA), Ministry of Health Malaysia. Malaysians can grab Orinbe products comprised of the company’s signature product Jeju Recipe: The Pure Oil, the Well-Morning Sleeping Mask, 4 Season Moist Sun Cream and Hyaluronic Acid Energy Ampoule from Modern Essentials (ME), the exclusive distributors for Orinbe in Malaysia.
Orinbe is also available on online shopping platforms of Shopee and Lazada.
