KOTA KINABALU -- Any decisions on Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) will need to be discussed with all participating parties said Sabah Umno deputy chief Datuk Yakub Khan.

This is because GRS is comprised of several parties and any decision must be made via a consensus.

"GRS is made up of several parties, so of course, any decision has to be brought up to the GRS meeting.

"So I do not want to comment yes or no, positive or otherwise as this matter must be brought to a meeting first,'' he said to reporters when met at the Wonders Of Wilderness-The Ocean (WOW 1.0) project here today.

Yakub was commenting on GRS registration as an official political coalition after news broke that his own party is not keen on the coalition being registered.

Yesterday (Jan 15), the Sabah chapter of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia's information chief, Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan said that the call for GRS to be registered as an official political coalition is growing among the people in the state.

Khairul added that GRS is able to help Sabah progress positively and it is time for all state leaders to commit under GRS.

Currently, GRS includes Perikatan Nasional, (STAR, SAPP, Gerakan, and PAS), along with Barisan Nasional, (Umno, MIC and MCA) and Parti Bersatu Sabah.
