BERA - The government has assured that no more Movement Control Orders (MCO) would be enforced nationwide.

According to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, the decision was made following concerns that restriction orders would be in place again especially during the upcoming Hari Raya celebrations.

“I have previously announced that we are no longer implementing the MCO nationwide.

“The economic sector will operate as usual and I guarantee that the country will not stop businesses from operating.

“People are free to travel and our focus would be on targeted areas,” he told reporters in a press conference, here, yesterday.

He said, if an area shows a rise in Covid-19 cases, the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) will be enforced only in that particular area.

Citing the rise in Covid-19 cases in Bera and Felda Sebertak, Ismail said EMCO will be enforced in the areas.
