SHAH ALAM – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob thanks the Chinese community for their contribution towards the national recovery efforts in tandem with the aspirations of Keluarga Malaysia.

“Thank you to the entire Chinese community who stood shoulder to shoulder with other races such as Malay, Indian, Kadazan, Dusun, Murut, Iban, Bidayuh and Melanau as part of Keluarga Malaysia,’’ said Ismail Sabri in his CNY wishes today.

Ismail Sabri also expressed hope that the national recovery effort will continue to improve as to ensure economic stability and the people’s welfare are well taken care of.

“In conjunction with the Year of the Tiger, I hope that all of the government’s efforts to ensure economic stability and the people’s prosperity will be improve year on year.

“Let us unite to support the government’s efforts to restore and restructure the national economy to make Malaysia a fully developed nation,’’ he said.

Ismail also assured that the country is on the right track towards recovery based on 90 per cent of the economy and social activities have been reopened and the high vaccination rate in the country.

This is also evident as the nation’s gross domestic product (GDP) is expected to grow between 5.5 per cent to 6.5 per cent for 2022, in line with the International Monetary Fund and World Bank’s projection of 6.0 per cent and 5.8 per cent growth for the nation, respectively, said Ismail.

“This growth is propelled mainly by an expansive Budget 2022 with the value of RM332.1 billion and the normalisation of economic and social activities.

“The continuation of projects with multiplier effects and strong foreign trade especially from our main trade partners has also increased economic growth.

“All this is in line with the government’s aspiration in the 12th Malaysia Plan to achieve a high-income nation status by 2025 through various planned initiatives,’’ he said.
