KOTA BELUD – PKR Kota Belud has unanimously voted for the Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate for the seat to use the party’s logo for the 15th General Election (GE15)

Kota Belud PKR division chief Mustapha Sakmud said the party is well aware that United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (Upko) will not be fielding a candidate for the seat in GE15.

“But based on PH’s big family policy, we will meet with Upko, Dap and Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) at the Kota Belud level to finalise the proposal to field a candidate contesting on the PKR logo.

“The question on who would contest for the seat for PH will be discussed at the right time. The priority right now is to strengthen each party machinery to face GE15,’’ he said to Sinar Daily during a retreat program at the Ecotourism centre in Tindian Komujo here on Saturday (Jan 5).

He also stated that PKR Kota Belud is open to cooperating with other political parties that agree to Sabah’s reform agenda and the candidacy of their party president, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the prime minister.

Speaking on the program, Mustapha also stressed the importance of new young voters from the age of 18 that will play their part in GE15, with some 20,000 alone in Kota Belud.

“The party will move the youth wing and social media to attract young voters to vote for PH and its component parties,’’ he said.
