I am not the same person as I was in my 20s and as hard as it is to accept, neither is my skin.

Ever since I hit my 30s my skin has become noticeably drier than usual, and dark circles as well as eye bags have become more visible. This is where I need all the help I can get because concealers can only do so much.

Tapping into using super, natural ingredients is always a good idea when it comes to skincare. One ingredient that offers numerous benefits for the skin is turmeric. The only drawback of this spice is that everything it touches turns gold - or yellow for that matter.

Loaded with anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatory components, turmeric is a super ingredient that should be included in your skincare routine to help banish dark circles, treat acne, prevent early signs of ageing, lighten scars and more.

Another ingredient that works well in the kitchen and on your skin is oatmeal. It can work as an exfoliant to remove dead skin cells, making way for a smooth, well-nourished skin.

Yello Skincare is a local skincare brand that harnesses the goodness of the turmeric spice, oatmeal and other high-grade ingredients in its products.

Over two weeks I religiously applied two products from Yello Skincare into my beauty routine. One is the Oatellia Exfoliating Gel Cleanser, which is a gentle exfoliating cleanser that doesn’t overwork the skin.

I typically remove my make-up with a make-up remover before applying the cleanser but for experimenting purpose I opted for the cleanser to see if it can in fact, remove my make-up and it did a fairly good job. Although, it’s worth noting that I do not wear heavy make-up on the daily.

I am not a fan of cream-based cleansers so this works well for me – the consistency is light and it’s non-irritating on the skin despite it being called an exfoliating gel cleanser.

The Snowmeric Hydra-Boost Brightening Serum is packed with brightening actives, and is supported with skin-replenishing ingredients to brighten overall skin complexion – just what I need! Out of the two this is my favourite as it did wonders for my dry skin.

I deposit a pea-sized amount of the serum onto my skin before patting it all over my face. Top it off with some moisturiser and it keeps my skin feeling soft and hydrated all day.

Price wise – the Oatellia Exfoliating Gel Cleanser is RM55 per bottle and the Snowmeric Hydra-Boost Brightening Serum will set you back at RM89.
