SHAH ALAM - Bersatu Secretary-General Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin has debunked rumours that two Federal ministers from his party are due to join Umno ahead of the Johor state election.

Hamzah said the rumours is created by Bersatu’s political rival as means to tarnish’s the party’s reputation ahead of the state election.

“That's easy, if it's rumours or poison letters, don't believe them unless it was announced by the person that really wishes to do so.

“This is merely psy (psychological) warfare by people in politics who are fighting for their party.

“So that is a normal occurrence. But why did it happen when we are near the Johor state elections?

“This is done supposedly to tell Johor voters not to trust Bersatu because their leaders want to go back to Umno,’’ he said, urging people again not to believe in rumours.

Hamzah was talking to the press after chairing a meeting for the Committee on the Management of Foreign Nationals in Sabah (JKPWAS) in Putrajaya earlier today.

Despite forming the Federal government together, Bersatu and Umno have been in open hostilities that is progressively seen since the Sabah state election back in 2020.
