Wisma Putra: 20 Malaysians in Ukraine safe

SHAH ALAM - The Malaysian Foreign Ministry (Wisma Putra) is monitoring the ongoing situation in Ukraine and assured that all 20 Malaysians registered with the embassy in Kyiv are currently safe.

In a statement today, Wisma Putra also stated that they are continuously monitoring the safety of all Malaysians there, including nine embassy staff, their dependents and two other students.

Malaysians in Ukraine are also advised by Wisma Putra to immediately contact and register themselves with the embassy in Kyiv to receive the appropriate consular service.

“All Malaysians in Ukraine are advised to give utmost attention to their safety and well being as well as adhere to instructions issued by local authorities," said Wisma Putra in a statement.

Similarly, the Japanese government have also ordered some 150 of its citizens in Ukraine to immediately evacuate from the country and advised its citizen against travelling to the country due to the rising tension between Ukraine and Russia.

US President, Joe Biden have also issued a warning for Americans in Ukraine to leave due to escalating tensions in the region.
