SHAH ALAM - The Sheraton move plotters that toppled the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration will always be remembered as "Katak'', or political frogs, said DAP deputy secretary-general, Teresa Kok.

Despite coming into power by betraying the people's mandate, Kok said the action of these men and women will continue to haunt them and even their families until the end of their days.

"They should regret for what has been done. They manage to bring down a government that was elected by the people and history will record them as Katak (political frogs) "When they are older they should reflect on whether what they did is correct historically and whether it has brought a good reputation to themselves and their family,'' she said during an interview with Sinar Daily.

The Sheraton Move was born out of the Sheraton Hotel in Petaling Jaya when several political figures in PH had met with politicians from Barisan Nasional and PAS in February of 2020.

The move saw PH component Bersatu and a splinter faction of PKR leaving the coalition and joining forces with their political rivals to form a new government.

This action has led to the formation of the Perikatan Nasional administration under Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who was sworn as the prime minister in March of that year.

When asked whether Kok would forgive her former peers, she said they eventually have no choice as they still have cooperated as federal lawmakers.

"We have no choice because we see them every day in Parliament but as the Malay saying goes, they have to repent for what they have done,'' she said.
