Don't 'threaten' us, PKR warns Muda as fight over Johor winnable seats intensifies

SHAH ALAM - PKR has warned Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman-led Muda not to "threaten" them in Johor polls as the fight to contest in winnable seats intensifies between the two multi-racial parties.
PKR deputy information chief Manivanan Gowin said Muda lacks experience in elections and should start by playing a supportive role.
"Seat negotiations should be a secondary issue for now.
"Once they have the experience and are prepared with their own machinery, and grassroots support, the new party can then contest in GE15," he told Sinar Daily.
Due to that as for now, he said Muda should not be "too ambitious and be civilised if it intends to contest in Johor. It should not be threatening" PKR.
This comes after Syed Saddiq’s statement that seat negotiations with PKR had ended without any mutual agreement, following PKR's move to announce its own 20 candidates for the Johor state elections.
Syed Saddiq warned of possible clashes between the two parties, saying that if it was unavoidable, then Muda would leave it to Johoreans to decide at the polls.
PKR had previously offered Muda three seats but the talks came to a sudden halt as the new party wanted winnable seats.
Last month PH coalition announced a seat-sharing formula which saw PKR and Amanah being allocated 20 seats each, and DAP, 16.
Each component party could also negotiate with Muda on which seats it wanted to give up, which saw DAP and Amanah giving for three seats each.
Johor goes to polls on March 12, with early voting on March 8 and nomination day on Feb 26.
