SHAH ALAM - Dewan Negara fully supports the Rasuah Busters' efforts to combat corrupt practices and any forms of abuse of power in the country.

Its speaker Tan Sri Dr Rais Yatim said the work done by the team was in line with the function of the Joint Committee on Integrity and Anti-Corruption in which he chaired.

“Support should be given to the Rasuah Busters' work as it is based on the people’s fight.

“Because of its contribution and service, Dewan Negara (and Rasuah Busters) will forge an alliance and will discuss in detail soon on several matters pertaining to corruption and how to implement programmes that focuses on the people,” he said.

He said this when met after appearing as a guest for Sinar Harian’s exclusive interview at the Kumpulan Karangkraf complex, here, on Wednesday.

Commenting further, Rais said the Joint Committee and the Rasuah Busters will work closely and formulate a cooperation to combat corruption and abuse of power in the country.

“If we do not fight against corruption directly, we will be disappointed as corruption is everywhere,” he said.
