JOHOR BAHRU: A Sin Chew Daily journalist, Weng Kian Yong, 42 has been compounded RM1,000 for allegedly breaking Covid-19 SOPs.

Astro Awani quoted Weng saying that he was heading towards a candidate for the Larkin state seat to get details including name, photo and contact number.

"I did not know that it is an offence to do so as I was the only one compounded while other journalists were also doing the same," he said.
