Vote for change or forever be at the mercy of "greedy leaders", says Lim Wei Jiet

Portraying the infamous "court cluster" or political personas in Umno that face a multitude of criminal charges as the danger of old politics, Lim stressed a change in the political structure is needed.
"When I see this country is being destroyed, I know I have to do something. I had to make a decision to contest and bring a new brand of politics to Malaysia.
"But if we don't come out (and vote), Malaysia will be destroyed and it is now up to the youth to pick us up and lead us.
"If we look at Indonesia and Vietnam, they are far ahead. Maybe today they sent their children here to work here but in 10 to 15 years to come, we would send our children to work there.
"Why is this the case? It's because we have greedy leaders, who take the people's money and topple elected governments just so they could get out of jail.
"That's the leaders of Barisan Nasional. You have to come out and vote. Tell your friends and family to come out and vote, if not, you would give an automatic win to Barisan Nasional. So you have to come out and vote," he said.
Lim also stated that this state election will not only determine the fate of the state government but the fate of the country as well.
"This election will not only determine the state government for the next five years but the fate of the country as the court cluster will look at the election result and use it to prompt the general election and if they win, they think they could escape from being imprisoned," said Lim at his debut ceramah for the Johor state election at Pekan Labis earlier today.
Lim, who is a lawyer by profession, is Muda's candidate for the state seat of Tenang.
During his ceramah tonight, nearly 100 people had turned up, mostly elderly locals and Muda supporters.
Lim also recalled that Muda was born out of the Sheraton Move, where the elected Pakatan Harapan government was toppled via defection.
This prompted Lim, Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, along with other like-minded individuals to form Muda.
