Amanah deputy president Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub said the people understood the reasons for the state election to be held "and this was causing uneasiness with them".
In an exclusive interview with Sinar Harian, he said the people were able to analyse the reasons behind the polls and due to that it was the best time for voters to choose the best state government.
The opposition has so far claimed that the Johor state election was pushed by members of the “court cluster” in Umno, referring to Umno leaders who are either on trial or have been convicted over charges of corruption, criminal breach of trust (CBT), abuse of power and money laundering.
On 750,000 new voters in Johor, he said they are aware of the abuse of power and corruption. Due to that, he said it is the young are matured and will make the right decision for the state.
The Pulai MP added their candidates are a mix of the young and old as a way to pass the knowledge and skills to the young.
Amanah Johor is contesting in 16 seats with half of them from the youth category. "They have the capability, the education with some of them with business and political experience," he said.
He was also asked about the logo as Amanah and DAP will be contest under PH logo while PKR is on its own which he said it is not an issue for voters. In Melaka, he said both BN and PN flags are blue but the voters recognised the difference
"The crucial point is for us to work hard and win together," he added.
