Local carrying RM12,500 worth of methamphetamine arrested by police in roadblock

BENTONG - Police seized RM12,500 worth of methamphetamine during a roadblock in Bentong on Tuesday (March 1).

The police have arrested the suspect, a local 31-year old man, at the checkpoint.

Bentong police chief Superintendent Zaiham Mohd Kahar said the police found five compressed boxes wrapped in transparent plastic containing 5127.42 grams of drugs each.

Zaiham said the estimated value of drugs seized in the operation can accommodate supplies of approximately 5,127 people.

The suspect was then tested positive for methamphetamine positive and has been remanded for seven days under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
