SHAH ALAM - Sheikh Omar, the PH candidate for Paloh state seat has promised to retain traditional values of the area’s original identity as the potential for the local economy to grow without having to settle in bigger cities.

However, this can only be achieved through "modern and seamless infrastructure and facilities, he said in an interview with Sinar Harian.

Throughout his three years in Paloh, the biggest project implemented was to establish a new Paloh - Bekuk route to commute to Segamat easily. Previously, locals had to go through Batu Pahat, Yong Peng and Kluang, an hour's drive which now would be shortened by half

Sheikh Omar added the project has been approved by the government under the ongoing 12th Malaysia Plan.

“The diversity of the community in the Paloh state constituency makes this area so special with 47 percent Malays, 37 percent Chinese, 15 percent Indians and one percent indigenous people,” he said, adding that Paloh certainly needs a representative to provide more for all races ad religion.

Sheikh further said the future of Palon is the hands of voters, and urged there was no urgency for the Johor polls to be held, urging voters to choose the right leaders for the next 5 years by casting their votes as not to give in to those looking to quench their political thirst.
