Health ministry reports 31,490 new cases, 79 deaths

SHAH ALAM - Malaysia logged in a total of 31,490 new Covid-19 cases as of 12pm yesterday (Nov 8) according to Health Ministry’s CovidNow website.

The total number of active cases is now 306,680 with 95.9 per cent or 294,242 under home quarantine.

Positive patients in Low-Risk Treatment Centre (PKRC) are 3,397, hospitalised are 8,668 and those unventilated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is 150, while those ventilated is 223.

A total of 79 deaths were reported of which 19 were brought-in-dead (BID) cases. Yesterday’s death brings the total number of Covid-19 death to 33,384 with 6,914 of them BID cases.

The top five states with the most number of cases are Selangor with 8,095; Kuala Lumpur with 4,527; Kedah 3,015; Penang 2,425 and Sarawak 1,903.

The top three states with the highest of death are Johor with 16, and Kedah and Perak both 13 respectively.

Sarawak had the highest R0/infectivity rate at 1.36 followed by Kuala Lumpur (1.26), Terengganu (1.17), Perak (1.16) and Negeri Sembilan (1.11).
