12.19am: EC: Amira Aisya wins in Puteri Wangsa for Muda's sole victory in Johor polls.

12:05am: EC: BN wins Johor polls with 40 seats, PH (11), PN (3), PKR (1), Muda (1).

11:32pm: EC: BN wins Johor polls with 29 seats as of 11.05pm.

11.25pm: EC: BN has secured 33 seats, PH (7 seats), PN (3 seats) and PKR (1 seat).

11.23pm: EC announced that BN has secured a simple majority of 29 seats to form the state government.

11.19pm: Unofficial break down: BN 41, DAP 9, Amanah 1, Muda 1, PKR 1, PN 3.

11.11pm: BN’s Datuk Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi won the Rengit state seat with 1,920 majority. He secured 7,903 votes against PN’s Mohammad Huzair Lajis (5,983 votes), PKR’s Khairuddin A Rahim (2,065 votes) and Pejuang’s Nizam Bashir Abdul Kariem Bashir (206 votes).

10.52pm: EC: BN's Datuk Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi
won in Rengit.

10.52pm: BN defends Layang-Layang seat, defeating PKR’s Dr Maszlee Malik with 2,815 majority. BN candidate Abdul Mutalip Abd Rahim secured 7,551 votes against Maszlee (4,736 votes), PN’s K. Alagathiran (1,278 votes) and Pejuang’s Ahmad Shafiq Othaman (164 votes).


10.49pm: PH’s Marina Ibrahim has won the Skudai state seat with 13,943 majority against BN and PN. She obtained 26,359 votes while BN’s Lim Soon Hai obtained 12,416 votes, and PN’s Khoo Kong Ek obtained 6,258 votes.

10.29pm: Unofficial: BN has won 31 seats - Zahid.

10.28pm: BN’s Haslinda Salleh won the Tenang state seat with 1,736 majority. She secured 5,380 votes, against Muda’s Lim Wei Jiet (3,644 votes), PN’s Ahmad Humaizi Udin @Uzir (2,729 votes), and Pejuang’s Mohd Fauzi Bachok (224 votes).

10.16pm: Benut incumbent Datuk Hasni Mohammad won the seat with a 5,859 majority. He secured 10,896 votes against PN's Datuk Isa Ab Hamid( 5,037 votes), PKR (1,200 votes), and Pejuang (139 votes).

10.08pm: EC: BN won in Johor Lama, Yong Peng, Bukit Naning and Kukup.

9.53pm: Unofficial: PN won in Endau.

9.15pm: DAP's Anthony Loke Siew Fook, Amanah Mohamad Sabu and Amanah leader Ahmad Termizi Ramli look dejected as BN looks set to win two-thirds majority.

6.47pm: Unofficial: BN claims some 1.3 million voters turnout compared to 1.5 million in GE14.

6.29pm: Unofficial: Within 29 minutes after polling centres close, Umno's Asyraf Wajdi claims in his Twitter says BN is leading in 34 seats.

6pm: Polling for the 56 seats in the Johor state election ended at 6pm. A minimum of 29 seats are needed to win a simple majority and 38 seats for two-thirds.


As of 5pm, Election Commission announced 50 percent voter turnout as compared to 74 percent turnout in 2018 polls. Some of the polling stations in Johor Bahru were reported to be empty at 4.30pm.

4.48pm: EC: Voter turnout at 50 per cent as of 4pm

4.40pm: With less than 50 percent voter turnout in Johor polls, the Undi18 members are encouraging first-time voters to vote.

Tweeter handler, Acapwho wrote: “To all Johoreans, please fulfil your responsibilities and increase voter turnout today at #PRNJohor2022. It's a historic day for everyone especially those who are from 18-20, this is your first experience in the election, do not lose this chance!”


4.23pm: Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad has casted his vote at Sekolah Kebangsaan Pengkalan Raja Pekan Nanas, Pontian polling centre.

4pm: Woman voter given a RM1,000 compound for turning up at polling centre despite being Covid-19 positive - Johor Health director

3.50pm: EC: Voter turnout at 46 per cent as of 3pm

3.30pm: Johor PKR chief Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh claims PN members set up booths in front of the SK Sagil Kampong voting centre in Tangkak. In his Facebook page, he says they set up camps 50 metres away from the polling centre to attract voters.

2.47pm: EC: Voter turnout at 40 per cent as of 2pm.

2pm: EC: Voter turnout at 35 per cent as of 1pm.

12.44pm: EC: Voter turnout at 29 per cent as of noon.

12.40pm: Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba has casted his vote at SJK (C) Kulai 1, Kulai polling centre.

11.50am: EC: Polling centre at Pulau Besar Community Hall in Mersing the first to close at 11am.


11.45am: EC: Voter turnout at 22 per cent as of 11am.

11.10am: Senior Minister
(Defence) Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein and his wife Tengku Datin Seri Marsilla Tengku Abdullah have casted their votes at Sekolah Agama Taman Sri Lambak, Kluang.

10.55am : Muda's President Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, with his parents and three siblings have casted their votes at SK Taman Sutera, Perling.

10.45am: BN candidate for the Bukit Naning seat Datuk Mohd Fuad Tukirin and his wife Datin Norazila Mohamed have voted at SK Ayer Itam, Batu 18, polling centre.

9.50am: Bersatu President Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is at SMK Sri Muar to cast his vote.

9.25am: Police receive 140 reports during campaign period, 37 investigation papers opened. Offences include destroying political parties posters - Johor police chief Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat.

8am: Voting centres across Johor are opened. A total of 2,539,606 voters out of the total 2,597,742 registered voters in Johor are eligible to vote in the state election.
